We are at the RAT (Riverside Adventure Trails) and into our second week here. We will move up the road next Friday. We made it to Safeway to get our flu shots. Had to pay $30.00 each. For some reason, out insurance didn't cover shots. Oh well. We wanted them anyway. Free or not.
Friday the 11th, we headed across the river into Laughlin.
We went to several casinos and registered for their players club cards. We hit the Riverside Resort, Aquarius, Regency Casino, Edgewater, Colorado Belle, Pioneer, and the Tropicana. We received $5.00 of free slot play, 2 for 1 Buffet coupons, and all kinda perks. At the Riverside, there was a car/motorcycle show on the third floor.
Nice collection of cars.
At the Tropicana, there was a Tattoo Convention. Lots of interesting body art around there. They had some specials...we passed.
At the Colorado Belle, there was Das Beerfest going on along with some Oompa bands playing.
There is a riverwalk along the Colorado River along Casino Drive. We will 'hike' that trail later.
Saturday the 12th, we met up with the Kirbys (Gene & Cyndi) and went checking out yard sales around here.
Donna found lots of fabric and sewing stuff. Later Gene and I went to Lake Havasu to pick up a dinette set he had bought there.
We have only 4 gigs of data to use for internet through our Verizon Jetpack and our smartphones. We had reached 3 gigs. But I got out our Cradlepoint router, and antenna. Got it all hooked up. And found an open Wifi here. Cool.
Sunday we listened to last weeks sermon by our Pastor Bob from our home church back in East Wenatchee, WA. It was good. The website is www.ecfmc.org if you are interested. Good stuff!
I did wash the truck. Even waxed half of it.
That evening we went to the Kirby's and had dinner and watched a movie...Lincoln. Pretty good movie. Politicians also sucked back then.
Sunday the 14th,
Donna did some laundry and ironing, so I went for a little drive. I was going to go check out the petroglyphs located just out of Laughlin.
What!!! Oh yea. The government shutdown. So I can't drive a dirt road and look at rocks. Of course!
But I did see a cool cell tower.
I drove to Davis Dam. Nice area. We will visit this place again.
There are 3 trails that take off from here. Donna and I will have to come back here to do some exploring.
We met the Kirby's and went to a mall to do some shopping. We didn't get too much, but I saw this.
A Lamborghini Diablo. Wow! Nice car!
We then finished the day with a nice Mexican dinner. Casa Serrano in Ft Mohave.
Yum!
