I did some bike riding down to the bay and along the touristy areas.
While at Birch Bay, our Son, Tim, and Grandsons Roman & Ryker came to visit us. We all went to the beach one day. The tide was out and we played around in the sand, looking for shells and stuff.
We fired up the ole fire pit and made some Smore's. We had a great time.
They spent the night with us. We turned the dinette set into a bed. Roman thought that was sooo cool!
The boys helped us clean up before they had to leave.
Making memories...
While here, I did some more work on my solar/inverter install. I drilled the hole (OMG!) in the roof to bring the solar cable down from the combiner box. A 1 inch hole.
The cable will end up in panduit and run down this wall.
This is where it went up through the roof.
Then I installed the combiner box and used plenty of Dicor to make sure there would be no leaks.
Then I hoisted the 4 panels onto the roof and placed them.
Again, lots of Dicor.
That opens up some much needed space in our basements now. I need some more goodies from the hardware store, so that is it for now. After all is done, I will do another blog with the whole install along with all the pictures.
But time to move on now.
Then we headed over to Lynden, WA to the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds for the Good Sam 'Hands Across the Border' Rally. There were 58 RVs here, Canadians and Washington Good Sams.
For the next 4 days, we did all kinds of stuff. Potlucks, seminars, games, entertainment, and good old fellowship.
This is our rig parked beside my brother Jim (& Eileen), and fellow Appleland Sam, Rick & Linda.
One evening, we headed into Bellingham with Jim & Eileen to the Boundary Bay Brewery. I got a 'Boat' float.
Jim & Eileen run the Good Sam store. Here they are setting up.
We had a good time 'hanging out' together.
Here we are one morning at 'coffee & donuts' time.
The WA State Director is in the funny hat.
Mount Baker was beautiful, off in the distance.
Great weather all weekend. Here is the RC car races.
We played bean bag baseball again this year.
The big match, was the staff of British Columbia vs staff of Washington state. I nailed a homerun in the 7th inning that led our team to the win.
The winners.
A rally selfie of us!
After the 4 day rally, we headed south 33 miles to our 24th Thousand Trails park near Mount Vernon, WA.
Very wooded ... and neat.
Rumble Bunny on guard duty.
They love this life as much as we do.
And one more thing .....Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there.
Nice job, I would have been terrified drilling a hole in my roof!
ReplyDeleteIt was, but I trust Dicor. And I use a lot!
