St. Ignace & Lake Superior - September 8, 2014

Pulled the rig 171 miles and crossed the Mighty Mac (Mackinaw Bridge)

and into the UP (Upper Peninsula) of Michigan.

We even saw a giant hot dog on the way.... had to get a pic of that!

We pulled into the Kewadin Casino just 4 miles above St. Ignace. You can stay in their RV parking area with Electric and water, for only $10.00 a night.

The ground was a bit uneven, and after 3 boards, we looked pretty good. Then the 50 amp connection showed an open ground on our Progressive Industries EMS. I switched to the 30 amp and all was good.

Then a younger couple came over and said they had a family emergency and had to leave, do we want their spot? They had already paid for 4 nights. Sure!  We wished them luck and moved to their spot. 50 amp and level.  Cool!

Not a bad place to stay and check out the area.

And for us..... free! We like that!

Then we drove another 65 miles north (without the rig), to visit Lake Superior. The place was the Whitefish Point Lighthouse and Museum.

There was also a Shipwreck Museum. We learned all about the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald back in 1975.

And we got our pics of Lake Superior. That's 4 of the Great Lakes we have visited.

Then back to the casino where 'home' was.

Another fun day!
