Thunderbird Resort, Monroe, WA

When we left East Wenatchee for our trip over the North Cascades Highway and to Concrete, WA, I checked my tire pressures using our Pressure Pro Tire Pressure Monitoring System. I always check before we take off. There was no alarms, but the right rear RV tire showed 98 lbs while the other 3 showed 106. I thought it would heat up and be fine and I would top them all off when we got to our campground. When we were parking the rig in Concrete, as the tires went across the grass, Beep! Beep! Beep!. The tire read 88 lbs and sounding off. The tire had cooled off. I aired it up to 101 and while we were parked there, it seemed to stay good.

After topping all tires off, we made the 84 mile drive to Monroe, to the Thunderbird Resort (a Thousand Trails) and when moving through the park, the alarm went off again. 92 lbs. After we got set up, I swapped air sensors to try a few things. Not a sensor. When I swapped them back, I noticed a hiss around the metal valve stem. I threw a deep well socket on it and it turned 2 times!. No more leak. Yea! For awhile I thought it might be Coachnet calling time.

We are in site #82 along the river with 50 amp and water. There is a huge wall of giant trees all along the south side of us. Sattilite TV... no way. Gonna have to 'rough it'.

We parked right next to a site with an old Army tent set up. Later that day another couple set up another tent on the other side of us. They looked homeless... but.. after meeting them, we found out they all work for Thousand Trails and are staying here workcamping. And they are the nicest people. You sure meet the friendliest folks in this RV world.

Our primary reason to be here is to visit with our Son Tim, his wife Shannon, and our two grandsons, Rome and Ryker. We have spent several days with them and one night Rome spent with us in the RV.

On the 8th, we drove over to East Wenatchee to our old church for the last sermon from one of our favorite Pastors, Bob Lenderman. Then we all had a retirement celebration and potluck. Eastmont Community Church is such a great place. Good to see and be around our church family.

I put our sofa/sleeper on Craigslist. Hope we get a buyer while we are here. We want to get a different piece of furniture. We don't need another bed, and it should be lighter too. Just starting to look around but can't really get serious till the old one is gone.

And finally, I have been looking at our KM Resorts membership. There are 8 resorts, all located in Washington. We can stay free for 2 weeks at a time. But we will only use their parks 15 times while in the state this year. With the annual maintenance dues of $ 434.00, that comes out to about $ 29.00 a night. We were talked into buying this membership back in 2010 after buying a travel trailer. We paid... :( .. a little over 5K. We could stay at the same parks using our RPI membership for only $10.00. I think when it comes time to pay our dues, we won't and will just take our losses and run. I have looked around and it seems no one wants to buy it. Oh well, it's only money. (Pfffft!)
