Snowbirds - Foothill Village RV Park, Yuma, AZ - February 21, 2022

As we were packing up and getting ready to head back toward Yuma (instead of our planned trip to Florida), I noticed a fresh new groove in one of our Goodyear G614 RV tires. It was the rear, door side tire.

It seems to have been rubbing on a metal brace under the kitchen slide. The clearance was only about a half an inch and I could see old rubber built up on the piece of metal.

This must be something new. I would have noticed this if it had been happening earlier. It almost seems that the slide was in too far, if that was possible. Thank goodness the tire wasn't grooved too far that it would be in danger of blowing. Until I can figure something out, I just extended the slide about 1 inch. Now the clearance is just fine. And it isn't so bad that we can't travel like that.

Well, it is always something... we will see what comes of this later.

It was traveling day.

We drove 179 miles and setup camp at the Pilot Knob BLM area just on the California side of Yuma. This time we found the 14 day area, and not the LTVA area.

This worked out good for us. We were just spending 1 night here.

The next morning, we moved back 25 miles into Yuma and checked into the Foothill Village RV Resort that we have stayed several times before. We are going to be here 21 days. It is part of our Thousand Trails membership (free).

It was a bummer that we had to cancel our trip to Florida. The winter storm that dipped south across Texas was the culprit. If we waited it out, then our timetable would have not worked out. Our Son is flying down here April 11th and the next day we are picking up a U-Haul truck. We will be packing up our mini-storage here in Yuma and he will be driving it up to Washington. I will follow in our 5th wheel. If the housing market ever cools off, we plan on purchasing property in the Pacific Northwest. If not this Sumer, maybe the next.

Meanwhile, I guess we are just being Arizona snowbirds. Definitely can't complain about the weather here. We even had to use our air conditioner a few times last week.

Oh and one more thing.... It was Superbowl weekend and I got a crazy idea that it was time for a new look.
