After saying our goodbyes to our friends and staff at Crescent Bar, we headed over Stevens Pass. We first stopped off at A's RV in East Wenatchee to fill our propane tank. We last filled it in Quartzsite in December. Then gassed up at Fred Meyer for $2.69 a gallon. Washington taxes the crap out of everything. I just heard that the national average is $2.25 a gallon....hmmm...
Highway 2 west to Interstate 5, then north to the Tulalip Casino near Marysville, a 156 mile drive.
We have stayed here many times. The new rule is a 3 day stay. We decided to do 3 days here because our daughter, Candy, is starting work in Everett Monday at the Providence Hospital.
We got parked
and that night I was sicker than a dog. I've had a cough for a couple of weeks, but this day, I was aching and weak all day. I slept most of the day and night and felt pretty good the next day. Thank goodness.
The second day, we drove over to Tim and Shannons's house and watched Roman & Ryker that day. It was pretty hot out and we had fun playing in the sprinkler.
The third day, Candy arrived and spent the night with us. Candy and I went over to the Casino, registered for their players card, and played the slots with our free $15.00 they gave each of us. I walked away with a cool 35 cents, but Candy came away with a little over 25 bucks. I love winning!
Today, Candy headed off to her new job, and Donna & I headed southward. It was a little stressful day of driving. Going through Everett, Seattle, and Oympia wasn't too bad but it got really slow around JBLM, the military base between Tacoma and Olympia. But we finally got on Highway 101 South and worked our way down to Seaside, OR.
We are stopping at the Seaside Thousand Trails park
for just one night. Then continuing on to Florence tomorrow.
Fergs .... out!
