Hershey RV & Camping Resort - Lebanon, PA. - April 18, 2023

This moving day had us traveling 148 miles and into another new state ... Pennsylvania.

We are staying at the Thousand Trails park near Hershey.

This stop is just for 4 days and one of the days, we visited the famous Hershey's Chocolate World. And it was pretty cool! It was free to get in and even to take the ride showing how they make some of the chocolate goodies that Hershey is famous for.

This is the main building housing the huge chocolate/gift shop, and the free ride.

Now we are heading to the ride.

A birds eye view of some of the goodies you can get here.

Here are some pictures of the candy making processes.

Then we took a Hershey City History tour.

The bus went all over Hershey and we learned all about Milton Hershey and the chocolate empire he created. It was a really good tour and we saw lots of cool stuff all over town. We had a great tour guide. It was around $17.00 each with Veteran discount, well worth it too.

A couple more pics..

Finally had to hit the gift shop before we left.

And some Hershey Chocolate Porter too.

New York state is next.

And Into New Jersey - Mays Landing, NJ. - April 14, 2023

We left Delaware and had an easy move into New Jersey. Just a 76-mile drive day. We crossed the Delaware River,

and made our way to the Mays Landing RV Campground, an Encore park, without hitting any toll roads. I was stationed in New Jersey back in 1971 .. many years ago. I had my military schooling at Fort Monmouth. It is closed now and was bought out by Netflix. I lived in Asbury Park and Bay Head. After looking at google and maps, nothing looked the same, so I felt no need to travel so far north, just to be disappointed. Needless to say, you can never go back.

We got setup in a small site that was really sloped. But using all my blocks, we got level.

While here, we headed over to the Jersey Shore. There are some really nice houses, apartments, and condos all around here, each with spacious decks with great views.

We visited Ocean City and walked on the beach and the boardwalk.

We enjoyed some good ole Jersey pie, at Pisa Pizzeria.

We headed over to Margate to see Lucy the Elephant. Pretty cool.

Then on to Atlantic City. Didn't do too much there. The streets were really narrow, everywhere costs to park, but we got to see what it was all about.

Another day, we drove south a bit to the Wildwoods. We explored the Beach Ball Beach and their boardwalk area.

Large beach area

Lots of touristy stuff to waste money on.

Much of the boardwalk areas were not open yet.

Our 8 days in New Jersey is coming to an end. Pennsylvania is next up.
