Killing Time...Before Graduation

We have some time to kill here before our daughter Kim's graduation from Eastern Washington University. Tomorrow is the big day and she is moving out of her dorm room today.

She called us around noon and asked if we had room in our truck. We will make room. We headed the 8 miles to Cheney and the campus.

Weather was great today.

We arrived at her dorm.

Donna and I were ready to get her moved.

Kim still had a few things to pack up.

But had a pretty good pile growing.

We packed her car and our truck.

Donna is an expert packer. We got it all.

Our oldest daughter Candy is driving our way from Vancouver, WA right now and will be here tonight. She has a 350 mile trip. Our son Tim will be here bright and early in the morning from Bothell, WA a mere 275 mile drive. Our whole family will be here for Kim's graduation, and for Father's Day on Sunday.

While I had some time...I decided it was time to backup my photos that have been accumulating on my hard drive. Every 1000 photos I take, I hook up my 1.5 TB external hard drive and copy them to the backup. Then I burn a DVD-R with 1000 photos on each.

I have a big notebook that I keep all our DVD in it. It has all our home movies, photos, audio books, and music (MP3s). This is the book to grab on the way out...in case of fire of something.

Also today while on Facebook, I found a group called '71st Ordinance Company Hanau Germany'. I spend 3 years with this outfit while in the Army. 1978 to 1981. I uploaded some photos I had.

Brings back some good memories. Then I got to searching around the net for my classmates. And I found one! Dale Anton, on my left. He has a facebook page and a blog.

Move Day To Ponderosa Falls RV Resort

While we were at Thunderbird, we watched our Grandson Rome one day. We brought him back to Papa's RV and we played in the playground there. We had a great time with him. He is 2 years old.

My son Tim works at Microsoft in Redmond and he gave us a tour of the Microsoft campus one day. The place is huge! We had lunch at what looked like a big mall, but it was just one of the Microsoft buildings. One of many. It was like a city by itself. Nerds everywhere...:)

We watched Rome overnight while Tim and Shannon drove to Vancouver, WA where our daughter Candy lives and works. She gave Shannon an ultrasound (she is pregnant) and broke the good news that she is having a boy. He will be Ryker Jett Ferguson. We all are soo excited.

Monday, we packed up and made a 285 mile trip to Ponderosa Falls RV Resort near Cheney, WA.

This place is pretty wooded, but driving through here is no real problem. I wish there was a bit more space between sites.

Pondrosa Falls is a K&M Resort park. We have a membership with K&M and this is one of their parks. This place works great because our daughter Kimberley is graduating from Eastern Washington University on June 15th.

Here is some of the things to do here.

Cabins. For the Non-RV crowd.

Youth center & Adult lodge.

Kiddie bumper boats.

 A cool mini golf course.

 Exercise area.

Rec rooms.

 All facilities are quite clean.

Now we are talking....

We have time to kill before graduation. We will visit the Spokane area and see what there is to see.

Thunderbird Thousand Trails Preserve - Monroe, WA

We left the Wenatchee River County Park around 10 AM and made the 98 mile drive over Highway 2. This is not my favorite highway. We crossed over 11 narrow bridges and one tunnel. We made it, but only met one 'big' truck on one of them.

Checked in the Thousand Trails park around 1 PM. We have stayed here 2 other times. It is close enough to Seattle and our Son's family in Bothell so we can see the area and visit them too.

They were pretty full but we found a newly vacated spot that will do us just fine.

This place is very 'woodsy'. I think I lucked out finding our Dish Network signal.

We took a walk about and clicked a few pictures.

Retirement is GREAT!

This park is in a very wooded area. Very pretty and the weather was great too. Two 80 degree days in a row....and no rain!

We will visit the area more in the next few days. And also spend some time with our Son's family, Tim, Shannon and our grandson Roman.
