July 8 to July 19, 2012 - Crescent Bar Resort - Thousand Trails Preserve, Quincy, WA

In the midst of moving out of our house, it was finally time to move the 5th wheel. We got reservations at Crescent Bar Resort, a Thousand Trails preserve, site number 71. It is good to finally start using our TT membership.

Donna went to watch Rome (Our Grandson) while our Son Tim, and his wife Shannon went on a little vacation, and I moved the rig and got it set up. The 23 mile trip went smoothly.

For the 12 days we will be at Crescent Bar, I will commute to work. Donna will finish cleaning out the house for closing, and she also will be helping some friends of ours with their apricot orchard. She will pick a little, and sort/pack also.



Crescent Bar Resort is pretty nice. We have used the Hot Tub a few evenings. They have good clean showers, swimming pool, and a nice community center.



Just down the road is a great place to eat. It's called Tower Pizza. They have gourmet pizzas that are very good. They also have Mac & Jacks Amber Ale on tap. Great atmosphere too.

I guess you could say that we are full-time RVers now. Just not full-time travelers yet. It's all coming together.



July, 2012 - We have our house SOLD!!

Since the housing market isn't in the best shape right now, we decided to put the house on the market this year. If we had waited till spring of 2013, and it didn't sell, we would have to postpone our retirement plans. So we put our house on the market May 7th.

We had several viewings, and 1 month later, we had an offer! We countered and they accepted it. The home inspection was completed and the buyers signed off on the results and I didn't have any repairs to make. The pest inspection went and appraisal went well also. A closing date was set and after a few delays, we finally closed in mid July .

We had rented a 10 X 10 storaged unit and started our massive downsizing project in June. We gave away much to friends, family, Goodwill, and had a big yard sale. And the storage unit is pretty full too.

We filled our 5th wheel and moved it to a close by Thousand Trails preserve at Crescent Bar.

I will continue to work and will commute to work from where ever we are living. I quess we are semi full timers now. We still have much organizing to do in the 5th wheel, and have a year to weed out our storage unit.

It's all comming together!!!

May 30 to June 3, 2012 - Grant County Fairgrounds - The Washington State Samboree, Moses Lake, WA

We got packed up and met 4 other Chapter rigs at the wide spot in the road just a few miles out of town on Highway 28. We had a nice 65 mile drive to the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses lake, Wa. We all got checked in and parked together in the middle of the grassy field.

We had electrical and water hook-ups. We shared a lot.

This rally had 214 rigs from a variety of states and Canada.



We manned another booth and raffled off a few baskets. The proceeds will go to our charities, Dogs for the Deaf and Ronald McDonald House.



Donna got to sell some of the things she has sewn, some aprons, pot holders, hand bags, and pin cushins.



There was remote control car racing, crafts, games, a pet parade, seminars, and great entertainment every night.

We all had a great time and we all hit the dump station at the Dodson Road Rest Stop on the way home.



Had a great time, met lots of great people, and will definatly make it back next year.



May 2 to May 6, 2012, 2012 - Northwest Fairgrounds - The Lynden Campout, Lynden, WA

We left a day early to break up the long drive. Jim & Eileen left yesterday and said they were stopped at the Tulalip Casino located just off I5, north of Marysville. We left home at 5:30AM and had a nice 131 mile drive. It was early enough that there was not much traffic. We found them in the 'RV Parking' area behind the casino.

We found out that a visitor can stay up to 7 days for no charge. This was great. There is very good security here. They are patrolling quite regulary. We felt very safe. While here, we gambled a little, visited the new Cabela's just opened next door.

While in this area, we visited the Seattle Premium Outlets stores next to the casino. And we had lunch at Bob's Burgers & Brew. They had great burgers...and microbrews too. I had their Bonanza Burger. Wow!

After spending 1 night at the casino, we headed north on I5 toward Lynden. Since it was just a 69 mile trip, we stopped at the Camping World store in Burlington. we picked up some books, and a few misc items then continued on to the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden for the Good Sam Club annual Lynden Campout.

We spent 3 nights at the campout. We manned a table with Jim & Eileen, and sold raffle tickets for a couple of baskets of stuff and some of Donna's homemade aprons, purses, booties, and more. We raise money so our chapter can donate to a variety of good causes like the Ronald McDonald House and Dogs For the Deaf. We also raced RC cars, had a potluck, enjoyed great entertainment, and met lots of new RV friends. We also found another Bob's Burgers & Brews in Lynden...and partook.

On Sunday, May 5th, Cinco de mayo, Jim and I had to take one of our fellow chapter members, Ken, to the Hospital in Bellingham about 25 miles away. He was having a lot of pain in his knee and back and needed some relief. They took care of him and he will be ok now. BUT...while we were there, we became Great Grandparents! Our Grandson Erik and his girlfriend Sara, had to make a trip to the ER back in Wenatchee, and Sara needed to have an emergency C section due to high toxic levels in her blood. In the middle of our worrying and prayers, Oliver Lee Ferguson was born. He came 6 weeks early but weighed in at 4.7 lbs and was 19 in. long. And...everyone is doing good now. Erik and Sara are proud parents. Donna and I are proud Great Grandparents. Candy (our daughter) is one proud grandma too.

We left Lynden early Sunday morning to visit the family and see Ollie! What a great weekend!
